SOUTHWEST ACTIVITY NODE REGIONAL PARK (SWAN)
Located in the fastest growing part of Santa Fe, SWAN Park is a regional recreation facility located in the floodplain of the Arroyo de los Chamisos. Working with Wilson & Co Engineers, Surroundings’ team was tasked with solving complex site drainage issues to accommodate this new park, while ensuring the facility provides maximum accessibility for all.
Master planned to be 98 acres of park and open space, Phase 1 includes the implementation of amenities including a multi-purpose play field, “inclusive play” ADA accessible playground, gathering lawn, picnic areas, shade structures, parking and restroom facilities.
A strong focus to understand the needs and priorities of the City Parks Department included long term maintenance and repair, efficient irrigation systems, and compatibility with currently utilized infrastructure, site security, and integrated defenses against vandalism.
Surroundings lead a team of Civil Engineers and Irrigation Specialists to deliver this 4 million dollar project on schedule and on budget.
