OJO CALIENTE SANTA FE MASTER PLAN

Ojo Caliente Santa Fe has been a destination for its rejuvinating cold springs for centuries, starting with Native American inhabitants. In 2013, the owners of the original Ojo Caliente spa purchased the property with the goal to create an integrative wellness center for those seeking mental, emotional, or spiritual recharge. Surroundings was invited to participate in the long term master planning process to help create a holistic approach to help evolve this new resort.

Surroundings began the project with a series of analyses to uncover the existing conditions, its current issues and opportunities. We then held a collaborative two day worksession with the design team and client to focus on the site, the guest experience, design principles, and program development. From that work, we developed a landscape master plan that became the road map for current and future projects that supported the principles and goals of making the most sensitive use of this remarkable landscape for its visitors.
